Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs scouting young Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who has become one of the most sought-after talents in Europe recently.
Ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s possible exit, the Blues are expected to be in the market for a new number nine.
In addition to that, Chelsea’s new ownership group has shown that they are prepared to invest in the top young talents, so it is hardly a surprise that they are said to be monitoring Brighton’s Ferguson.
The 18-year-old has already established himself as a key player under Roberto De Zerbi and has registered seven goals and three assists from just 16 appearances for the club.
As everyone would expect, 90min claims that the teenager has already caught a lot of attention from both Premier League clubs and Europe’s other elites.

The report mentions that Chelsea are likely to have to compete with Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Barcelona.
That is quite a long list and could be even longer if Ferguson manages to maintain his form until the end of the season.
In terms of young strikers, Chelsea still have Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana at their disposal.
The former is still recovering from a long-term ACL injury, while the latter, who initially looked as if he would be an established first-team player, has recently played for the development squad.
It remains to be seen whether the pair would stay at Chelsea next season or be sent on loan, but just like these two, there is arguably little evidence that Ferguson could be the reliable goalscorer that Chelsea desperately need.
Aside from that, there is the aforementioned reported competition for his signature and 90min adds that the Republic of Ireland international is not in a hurry to leave Brighton and is likely in line for a new, much-improved contract.
