Reports have claimed that Chelsea staff have compared their youngster Omari Hutchinson to club legend Eden Hazard.

According to The Athletic, some members of staff at the club used a meeting when he joined the club to tell the 18-year-old that he now had the closest set of skills to the great Belgian in the squad.

Hutchinson has enjoyed a successful start to his Chelsea career, featuring predominantly for the U-21 side.

He has a large amount of appearances already since making the move from Arsenal. He has three goals and as many assists in the PL2.

However, arguably his best display came last night, when his goal and two assists saw them overcome Leyton Orient in the Football League trophy.

The goal in particular will turn some heads at Stamford Bridge. The attacker picked the ball up way inside his own half, before driving down the left and smashing home from the edge of the box.

Hutchinson compared to Hazard

He has featured anywhere across the frontline since making the shift across London. Ultimately, he has become the most important member of the youth team.

His value there can be compared to Hazard’s value to the first team during the time he spent at Chelsea.

This leans in to what The Athletic have claimed, that members of staff have made the comparison between the two to the players’ face.

The Belgian was crucial to the Blues for a number of seasons, before he finally decided to call it a day in 2019 and move to Real Madrid.

While things haven’t exactly worked out since his move to Spain, Chelsea supporters will no doubt remember the brilliance the winger provided them.

If Hutchinson can even reach close to those levels, he will be a stalwart for Chelsea going forwards.
