Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell is reportedly pushing for his former colleague Julian Nagelsmann to succeed Graham Potter.
Based on an earlier report from Fabrizio Romano, Nagelsmann is the favourite to be the next Chelsea manager after the club confirmed Potter’s departure on Sunday.
There are a few possible stumbling blocks that Chelsea could face in their pursuit of the young manager, however.
Firstly, reports in Germany claim that the 35-year-old remains under contract with Bayern Munich until 2026, and the Bundesliga side would likely seek compensation from Chelsea.

So, it would make sense if Chelsea were to consider other options, including Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique, with whom they have been linked as well.
But according to Footmercato, Blues director Vivell is still pushing for Nagelsmann. It is hardly a surprise, too.
Vivell knows Nagelsmann really well, having worked with the German tactician at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.
Footmercato also adds that Chelsea have already begun talks with Nagelsmann.
Potter’s former assistant Bruno Salter is currently in charge at Chelsea as an interim head coach ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Liverpool.
