Reports suggest that Graham Potter could be named the next Chelsea manager before their next Premier League fixture this weekend.

According to Mail Online, the current Brighton boss is set to be offered the job today, with there being no indications that he’ll decline the role.

Todd Boehly made the sensational and cut-throat decision to sack Thomas Tuchel less than 24 hours ago,, following his 100th game in charge.

That fixture ended up being one of his worst losses as Chelsea head coach, with them suffering a 1-0 loss in the Champions League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.

The new owners have seemingly settled on Potter to become their next man in charge, with them approaching the Seagulls yesterday to speak to the 47-year-old.

Potter should be in charge for Fulham

It appears their efforts have been somewhat positive, with Mail Online claiming it would only take a major hitch from now for Potter to not become the next Chelsea manager.

He has been impressing his peers in the Premier League for some time now, with Fulham manager Marco Silva describing him as ‘fantastic’ just last month.

While the former Swansea and Ostersund boss seems to have been the outlying favourite for the American owners to take the role, some fans will have been hoping for a manager with European experience to take over the club looking to fight on all four fronts this campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino is currently out of work, and was tipped by a few to be a better option for the Blues going forward than Potter.

However, the wonders the Brighton man is working at the Amex despite frequently losing his best players should no doubt attract Chelsea fans to his style, with the Seagulls currently sitting in the top four of the Premier League.

This is while also boasting the joint-best defensive record in the league, with Chelsea fans no doubt begging for security at the back again after losing their way a bit in the second half of Tuchel’s reign.
