A report from nearly six years ago about Mauricio Pochettino will now be seen as concerning for those at Stamford Bridge.

A piece by the Mail Online back in 2018 stated that the boss was unwilling to lower the intensity of his training sessions in the face of an injury crisis at Tottenham.

The report claimed that a number of the Spurs players had raised concerns that they were being worked too hard, and in turn suffering from a large amount of injuries at the club.

Chelsea fans will be more than aware of the injury concerns that currently surround things at Stamford Bridge, and the list has only gotten longer since the EFL Cup final defeat on Sunday.

Christopher Nkunku is back on the stricken list, with the boss stating in his press conference that he is likely to be out for another three to four weeks.

The France international has missed the majority of the campaign due to injury, which has been a real shame after how quickly he hit the ground in pre-season.

With he as well as a number of other players seeing setbacks come to their progress seemingly out of nowhere, and many supporters have been left wondering why this is the case.

It does seem as like a large portion of the issues are coming as a result of training sessions, and the reluctance Pochettino has shown in the past to make amends to fix this issue is worrying.

It has been the same fate for midfielder Romeo Lavia for this season, with him only featuring for less than 90 minutes in the Premier League.

This has been a real shame based off his promising talents, as well as now the obvious lack of depth that exists in the middle of the park for the Blues.
