Reports have claimed that people in Ukraine believe Chelsea have overpaid for the signing of Mykahilo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to The Athletic, his lack of experience on the big stage has left many unsure on his ceiling at a team the quality of Chelsea.

The Blues used half-time of yesterday’s win against Crystal Palace to introduce their newest signing to the Stamford Bridge faithful, after they rapidly accelerated to making iy official over the weekend.

The speed of the deal came after they were facing tough competition to try and secure a deal. Arsenal were seen by many as the favourites to secure the deal.

However, it appears Chelsea’s superior financial capability was behind them beating their London rivals to a deal, despite the Gunners being a long way clear at the top of the Premier League.

Now though, The Athletic have claimed that the Blues may have gone a little too far, at least that’s what the people in Ukraine believe.

The Blues were in desperate need of addressing the issue of creativity and goals in their attack, which had been lacklustre for the season so far.

This is despite the additions last summer of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

An injury to the England international has disrupted his season now, while he has been joined on the treatment table by Christian Pulisic.

However, it could be a new-look attack at Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

Joao Felix has already shown promise in his debut for the club before he was sent off, and he could be set to combine with the Ukrainian in the upcoming fixtures.

The pair may feature together in the huge Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund next month. Both will be available to play after new rules from UEFA.
