Arsenal will reportedly relaunch a bid to sign Raphinha after Chelsea snapped Mykhailo Mudryk away from them.

According to the Evening Standard, the Emirates sporting director Edu has sparked up a conversation with the Barcelona player over a potential move this month, having missed out on their prime attacking target.

Edu had seemingly put all his eggs in one basket to sign Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Up until the late hours of Saturday evening, it seemed like the Gunners would go on to secure their man.

But in stepped Chelsea, who managed to swerve past Arsenal in their pursuit of the Shakhtar star.

Two of Todd Boehly’s team flew out to Turkey to secure the deal, one that is apparently on the verge of being completed.

Mudryk is set to have his medical in London today, the city he is likely to call home, just in the South West rather than the North.

With the 22-year-old destined for Stamford Bridge, Arsenal are said to be exploring other options.

Their fresh outlook has landed at the door of the Nou Camp, who might welcome the Premier League’s sides arrival.

Arsenal now have Raphinha on their radar again

It’s been claimed that Raphinha’s future at Barcelona is on rocky ground, less than 12-months after moving to Spain.

The Brazilian left Leeds for the Catalonian club last summer in a transaction worth £55m.

He had interest from Chelsea and Arsenal at the time, but decided he’d had enough of England and desired some sunshine instead.

A rain cloud has hung over Raphinha since that switch to Barca, however.

He’s started just seven times in La Liga, and looks surplus to requirements in Xavi’s squad.

You can have him, Arsenal!
