Spain manager Luis de la Fuente is reportedly set to hand Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga an international call-up for games in March.
Kepa, who does have 11 senior international caps for Spain, wasn’t included in the final World Cup squad in Qatar.
The goalkeeper was named in the a preliminary 55-man squad for the World Cup, but he’s not actually represented his country since 2020.
There’s definitely been a revival in the shot-stopper’s Chelsea career in the last few months, which has seen him win back the number one spot in-between the sticks.
Kepa has eight clean sheets in 18 appearances this season and is about to be rewarded for it.

Kepa Arrizabalaga recognition
According to The Sun, Kepa will be included in the Spain squad for European Championship qualifiers that take place in March.
De la Fuente, who’s taken charge as the new Spanish manager post-World Cup, will include Chelsea’s keeper in his next squad.
It is explained that the Spain manager is really impressed by Kepa’s resurgence in west London, so is willing to reward him with an international recall.
The report explains the duo know each other well from when he coached him in Spain’s Under-21s team.

Described as “outstanding” by Micah Richards a few months ago, Kepa has enjoyed several exceptional individual performances so far this campaign.
In fairness, his game isn’t faultless, and there’s still the odd individual mistake in there.
However, he deserves huge praise for the way he’s rebuilt his confidence to become an important first-team player at Stamford Bridge again.
