Chelsea target Luis Enrique would like to use a 4-3-3 system at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.

Luis Enrique, 52, is one of the high-profile managers linked with the Blues position.

Journalist Matt Law reports on Twitter that Frank Lampard has arrived at Cobham today and will take charge as the Chelsea caretaker boss until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s ownership group are afforded some time to appoint their full-time manager for next season.

The Independent claims that Enrique has really impressed Chelsea after an initial meeting with them.

It is understood that the Spanish coach outlined his tactical plans to use a 4-3-3 formation with the Blues squad.

Graham Potter tried and failed using a number of different systems this season, but ended up reverting to a back three. Most will agree Reece James and Ben Chilwell are huge assets for Chelsea when they’re deployed as wing-backs.

However, can Enrique convince the Blues hierarchy of his ideas? In fairness, he led a superb Barcelona side during three year at the Camp Nou between 2014-17.

In addition, journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed on Twitter that Enrique has already started working on his English.

While the chaos and hysteria around Lampard’s short-term return will grab the focus of Chelsea supporters, the board can continue work to find Potter’s long-term successor.

If you’re a Chelsea wide player, Enrique could be the manager you want next season.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, who both joined Chelsea in January, are exactly the kind of wingers that could love Enrique’s 4-3-3 shape. Raheem Sterling is another Blues star we could picture enjoying great success, too.
