New Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly ready to sell Marc Cucurella, who is drawing interest from Newcastle United.

The Mirror have reported that Newcastle United are interested in signing Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly prepared to let the Spain international left-back leave.

However, there is one issue.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea would have to be prepared to accept £30 million for Cucurella.

That would mean taking a 50% loss on the defender the Blues signed only last summer.

The Mirror have reported that Chelsea paid Brighton and Hove Albion £60 million in transfer fees for the 24-year-old Spain international left-back in the summer of 2022.

What should Chelsea do about Marc Cucurella amid Newcastle United interest?

In our opinion, Chelsea should not sell Marc Cucurella to Newcastle United for £30 million.

No way.

Now, of course, it is unlikely that Newcastle, or any other club for that matter, will pay £60 million for the 24-year-old this summer, especially after he did not have the best of seasons for Chelsea in 2022-23.

The Chelsea no. 32 made 21 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues last season.

Cucurella gave two assists in those games.

The left-back also made four starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League and played once in the Carabao Cup as well last campaign.

We believe that if Chelsea do not get £45-50 million for Cucurella, then they should not sell him this summer.

After all, Cucurella did well at Brighton, and there is every reason to believe that he could flourish under Pochettino at Chelsea in the coming years.
