Reports from Brazil have claimed that Thiago Silva has decided that he wants to leave Chelsea this summer.

According to Extra Globo, the veteran defender has already decided that he wants to return to his native country, with Fluminese mentioned as a potential destination.

It has been another stellar season for Silva at the back, as he has looked to help his teammates keep their heads during this dire campaign.

The Blues sit in the bottom half of the table, with them eliminated from every cup competition they started in.

The 38-year-old has struggled recently to bite his tongue on the negatives at Stamford Bridge. He recently came out and claimed plenty of mistakes have been made at the club this season.

Silva wants out of Chelsea

Now, reports have begun to emerge that Silva is looking to end his tenure with the club despite still having another year remaining on his contract in West London.

Defence is a position where Chelsea look well set for the future. Both Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile have looked strong young options whenever they have featured since their respective transfers.

There is also the imminent return of loanee Levi Colwill, after he has had a sensational spell in the Premier League with overachieving Brighton.

However, there would be a real benefit for these three young players to have the ‘unbelievable’ Silva at the club to learn from for another year, as they prepare to take the responsibility themselves of leading the line at the back.

With Cesar Azpilicueta also likely to be on the move, the Blues need to be wary of losing too many leaders at the club at once going into the upcoming campaign.
