Reports have claimed that Todd Boehly labelled the current situation at Chelsea as ‘embarrassing’ when he spoke with the players after the weekend’s game.
According to The Telegraph, the owner addressed his players for over an hour after the 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Brighton.
The Blues were completely dominated in their home stadium by the Seagulls, who sit way above them in the Premier League standings this season.
It was already a grim afternoon for the American, as tempers began to flare amongst supporters who attended the game.
A lot of this was directed towards the new man in charge, painting an ugly picture of the state of the club.
The mood had remained somewhat optimistic despite the league position, due to the fact that they were still in the Champions League following a sensational victory over Borussia Dortmund.

However, their chances of salvaging their season in that competition are hanging on by a thread after their quarter-final first leg defeat to Real Madrid.
It has been claimed that Boehly used his time in the dressing room to remind them of how much can still be achieved if they somehow turn things around in the second leg at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Frank Lampard has a big decision to make in terms of squad selection for tomorrow’s match, and hopefully he will have realised where things went wrong in the first leg.
For instance, starting a front two of Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling offered little to the Blues in attack, and surely operating a natural wide man would be the best option to stretch the Madrid defence.
This could play perfectly into the hands of Mykhailo Mudryk, who was one of few who impressed against Brighton at the weekend.
