Rio Ferdinand is blown away by Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer after he produced another masterclass at the weekend.
Chelsea are up to fourth in the Premier League table after winning 4-2 at home to Brighton on Saturday. Remarkably, Cole Palmer scored all four goals for the hosts in a stunning individual display.
Palmer, who’s showing no signs of a drop off in his second year at the club, now has six goals and four assists from eight games across all competitions this season.
It cements a great start to the new season for Enzo Maresca as the Blues head coach. Luis Miguel Echegaray has told ESPN that Maresca has created a counter-attacking machine, and we agree that a clear style of play is already emerging under this new management.

Rio Ferdinand would pay to watch Cole Palmer
Rio Ferdinand has made the interesting claim that he’d pay to watch Chelsea’s Palmer over any of the other young English talents in football.
He said on Rio Ferdinand Presents: “Palmer is top. I’m paying to watch Palmer over all of the young English players right now because what he does… He’s got everything.”
There’s so many different English stars coming through at various clubs. However, Palmer has been doing magical things in Chelsea colours since his move to west London last year.
Ally McCoist’s pre-season prediction
Palmer ripped it up last season during his first year as a Chelsea player, scoring 25 goals and making 15 assists across all competitions.
Everyone was curious going into this new campaign to see if he could replicate such high standards. So far, we’ve had a pretty conclusive answer to that.
Speaking via talkSPORT back in August before the season commenced, Ally McCoist tipped Chelsea’s Palmer to have a “terrific” second year. Well, it’s looking like the prediction was spot on the money as the English playmaker is currently thriving in the Blues line-up.
