Romeo Lavia has picked out the three youngsters at Chelsea who really excite him with their talent and potential.
Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia, who’s only aged 21 himself, is a top player in the Blues squad. When fit, he’s one of the most crucial figures in Enzo Maresca’s side.
Lavia could return for Chelsea from his latest injury by mid-March, which would be a significant boost for the team. In the meantime, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are doing the bulk of the work in the centre of the park.

Romeo Lavia excited by three Chelsea youngsters
During an interview with the Rising Ballers YouTube channel, Lavia picked out Blues talents Tyrique George, Josh Acheampong and Shim Mheuka as exciting youngsters.
The aforementioned trio have all come through the Chelsea academy during their development. George and Acheampong are now regulars in the first-team group, while Mheuka is an Under-21s star who made his senior debut back in December.
When asked which Chelsea youngster has the potential to become an FC Future Star, Lavia said: “I think Tyrique George. I see Josh Acheampong. You probably know him, Shim [Mheuka], good striker. I’d say these three I’m really confident in their abilities.”
George, 19, is an exciting left-winger who’s beginning to get more and more first-team minutes. Even though Chelsea received plenty of loan offers for George in January, he stayed put in Maresca’s squad.
As for Acheampong, we agree that the 18-year-old defender is a star in the making. In fact, Acheampong should start Chelsea’s trip to Brighton in the Premier League.
Mheuka, 17, is a talented teenage striker shining for the U21s this season. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets any extra first-team opportunities because the No.9 spot is a problem position for the club right now.

Enzo Maresca may need to lean on Chelsea prospect more
Chelsea striker Marc Guiu is sidelined with a “bad injury”, which leaves Nicolas Jackson as the only other out-and-out centre-forward in the squad. As we’ve seen on multiple occasions, Christopher Nkunku isn’t effective when he leads the line.
Therefore, Blues head coach Maresca should seriously consider integrating Mheuka into the first-team picture on a more frequent basis.
At the very least, the Chelsea youngster is a conventional striker who could offer a proper alternative to Jackson, particularly in the Conference League campaign.
It was pretty obvious that the club should’ve signed a new forward in the winter transfer window, but they need to look towards their academy after failing to do that.
