Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos still trained separately on Sunday, but Zinedine Zidane is hopeful that two key players could return for Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final clash against Chelsea.
According to Real Madrid’s official website, the players that started in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Real Betis only did some recovery work, but the rest of the group trained normally.
Ferland Mendy, who has been nursing a muscle injury, was also part of the group.
However, Sergio Ramos (calf injury) and Lucas Vazquez (PCL) did not take part in the group training session and continued their recovery processes instead.

While Tuesday’s game will be too soon for Ramos and Vazquez, Zidane hinted at Mendy and Toni Kroos’ potential returns after their draw with Real Betis.
“The plan is to have Mendy and Kroos back for the Chelsea game but we’ll see how they look from tomorrow,” said the Real Madrid boss (via the club’s official website).
“We have to recover now because that’s two points dropped. We have to focus on Tuesday’s game.”

Aside from the aforementioned names, the home side will also be without their young midfielder Federico Valverde who tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard is likely going to be in the squad on Tuesday, though, having featured as a substitute on Saturday.
According to a report from Spain, Zidane has already had a plan for the Belgium international for the first leg.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic is the only Chelsea player that has been ruled out of the trip to Madrid so far.
