There’s been a lot of scrutiny thrown at Chelsea over the years for their transfer policy, but they’re slowly winning people over with more hits than misses in recent times.
The Chelsea squad has gone through a gigantic turnover in the last few transfer windows. Now, they’re in a position where things are looking positive under head coach Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea internally believe the summer window was a success, where they did bring in several new faces. The Blues completed deals for the likes of Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho, Renato Veiga, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu.

Shaka Hislop names Chelsea’s Pedro Neto the Premier League’s best transfer
During a segment of choosing the Premier League’s best transfer signing this season, ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop decided to pick Chelsea winger Pedro Neto.
“Pedro Neto, he cost Chelsea quite a bit of money and you knew the player he was coming from Wolves. I just think he gives them a different dynamic in those wide areas,” Hislop told ESPN.
“Every time he’s come off the bench, he’s changed the game for Chelsea. I think he has been one of Chelsea’s brighter lights this season in what has been a very good start to the season for them.”
Theo Walcott claims Arsenal should’ve signed Neto, but instead, he left Wolverhampton Wanderers and joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window a few months ago.
If the £54m signing can keep himself fit, he’s got all the potential and quality to be a superb addition for the Blues. It’s encouraging to see that he’s already starting to make his impact in west London this term.
Pedro Neto is now growing in stature at Chelsea
Despite a bit of a slow start at Stamford Bridge, Neto is definitely now emerging as a key player for Chelsea.
The 24-year-old Portuguese winger forced his way into the Blues starting XI before the international break. In fact, he scored a superb goal from outside the box in the 1-1 league draw at home to Arsenal.
He’s proving he can be effective as a right-winger or left-winger. However, Troy Deeney thinks Chelsea’s Neto is restricted on the left, and the “powerful” attacker is better off the opposite flank.
| Competition | Appearances (Starts) | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 11 (5) | 1 | 2 |
| Conference League | 2 (2) | 1 | 1 |
| Conference League qualifiers | 1 (1) | 0 | 0 |
| Carabao Cup | 1 (1) | 1 | 0 |
Chelsea fans are slowly starting to see the reason why Neto was so adored at Wolves, so it’s exciting to see what he can do in the upcoming festive schedule when the games come thick and fast.
