Shocked Chelsea player was messaging Todd Boehly in final hours of deadline day last night

Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech was so desperate to join Paris Saint-Germain on loan and did everything he could to accommodate the move before it all collapsed, according to Sky Sports.

Despite PSG’s attempt to submit an appeal to LFP, the French football governing body made the decision on Wednesday morning against giving the proposed loan deal approval.

French media L’Equipe explained that Chelsea made a few mistakes when sending the necessary paperwork in the last hours of the window and when PSG received the right documents, it was too late.

This has not only upset PSG but also Ziyech, who even pushed Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly to finalise the move.

“Ziyech cannot believe his move to PSG has fallen through,” claims Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol (via Football Daily).

“The player is incandescent.

“Apparently he was messaging Todd Boehly last night, pleading to get the deal done.

“The player is stranded in Paris, absolutely desperate to join PSG, and was even paying his own money to get the deal done.”

While Chelsea obviously could have dealt with the situation better, perhaps PSG should not have waited until the deadline day to make their move as well.

Considering Chelsea officials were also under pressure to complete Enzo Fernandez’s transfer, with a number of club executives reportedly in Portugal for a meeting with Benfica, they were obviously quite busy.

It is very unfortunate for Ziyech, though, as he now has very limited options if he still wants to leave Chelsea mid-season.
