TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has taken the time to praise one Chelsea signing following his side’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa over the weekend.
Chelsea had a couple of their new boys on show from the beginning of the game, with Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho both starting the match.
Joao Felix then came on in the second half, but it was two of last summer’s signings and Enzo Fernandez who won all three points for the Blues.
Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring for Chelsea before Cole Palmer followed up Fernandez’s goal with a fantastic strike in the 83rd minute. Palmer is talking to Jackson every day off the pitch as the two look to improve their relationship even further.

Simon Jordan praises Pedro Neto
While Neto could not score against Villa, the winger still had quite a good game, putting in some excellent crosses.
That did not go unnoticed either, with Chelsea fans lauding Neto for his delivery during the match.
He has also impressed Jordan, despite being in and out of Enzo Maresca‘s team this season. In total, he has made just six starts in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, Jordan has still hailed Neto as a “brilliant addition” to this Chelsea side.
Speaking about the 24-year-old on talkSPORT, the former Crystal Palace chairman said: “If you look at some of the players that I had big question marks about in so far as my question marks are of any merits, the player up top, the centre-forward is beginning to score goals because I felt he was profligate last season — now he’s scoring goals. Neto’s come in, I think he’s been a brilliant addition. They’ve got [Romeo] Lavia fit, so he’s in the side now.”
Pedro Neto’s stats this season
While Neto has not been starting every game for Chelsea this term, he has still been making an impact.
With Chelsea level with Arsenal on everything in the Premier League, his equaliser against them last month is proving to be quite a significant goal.
Neto is also averaging the most amount of crosses per game in Chelsea’s squad and is third for key passes.
| Pedro Neto’s 2024/25 Premier League stats | Total |
| Games | 12 |
| Starts | 6 |
| Substitute appearances | 6 |
| Goals | 1 |
| Assists | 2 |
| Key passes per game | 1.2 |
| Crosses per game | 1 |
| Dribbles per game | 1.3 |
There is so much more to come from Neto, with Jamie Carragher wanting to see Neto raise his game. But Maresca can be satisfied with what he is getting from the Portugal international right now.
