Kris Boyd claims Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma absolutely tormented Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in Saturday’s game at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have now lost 12 Premier League games this season after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton.
Despite taking the lead through Conor Gallagher, the Blues ended up losing because of goals from Danny Welbeck and Julio Enciso for the visitors.
It was once again a disappointing result for Frank Lampard, who has lost all three games since he returned to the club this month as the caretaker manager. In addition, the performance was just as bad as the result.
Jason Cundy labelled Chelsea “embarrassing” after today’s match.

Speaking after Chelsea’s latest defeat, Sky Sports pundit Boyd did highlight the performance of Trevoh Chalobah.
The 23-year-old versatile defender returned to the starting line-up against Brighton, dropping in as the right-back in a back four.
Unfortunately, he had to deal with in-form 25-year-old left-winger Mitoma, who is destroying most full-backs he comes up against this season. Incidentally, his £2.5million (Sussex Live) signing has been a massive bargain for Brighton.
“Chalobah will sleep tonight because Mitoma ran him ragged from the first whistle. He moved him into centre back, brought on Reece James, and he struggled to deal with him as well,” Boyd told the Sky Sports News channel (5:28pm, 15 April).

It was a mixed bag from Chalobah during his stint at right-back, which you can kind of understand when facing Mitoma.
For certain, we wouldn’t want him in the same position on Tuesday night against Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Junior.
However, he did end up moving into a centre-back role in the final half hour against Brighton, which is where he’s most comfortable and used to playing.
With Kalidou Koulibaly sidelined through injury next week, Chalobah may be the best option to play as the left-sided centre-half in a back three.
