Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is extremely happy with Noni Madueke right now.
Noni Madueke has turned things around after a slow start to the season. And Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to Chelsea’s official website before his side’s win against Preston North End in the FA Cup, praised the winger for his behaviour and improvement.
Madueke only made his second start in the Premier League this season in Chelsea‘s 3-2 victory over Luton Town last weekend.
However, he was able to score in the game and the match prior to that, a 2-1 win versus Crystal Palace, showing how things have started to change for the 21-year-old.
Noni Madueke setting the right example at Chelsea
With Madueke now getting game time and delivering at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino thinks the wide man is a good example for the rest of the team after his initial struggles this season.
On Madueke, the Argentine said: “We have spoken about players needing to improve and he is a player that has improved a lot. I am so happy with his behaviour and the way he has committed, first with himself and also with the other areas of the club.
“He has potential and talent, but it’s in the way he behaves and does things in the future that will help him succeed. It is an example that there is a platform for everyone, then it is about being right in their mind and being consistent in the way we propose they behave.”

Noni Madueke has saved his Chelsea career
Chelsea only signed Madueke from PSV Eindhoven last January in a £30m deal (BBC Sport).
However, at one point, it looked like the England U21 international was heading for the exit door this month after his lack of minutes. He was being heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
After his role in Chelsea’s wins against Palace and Luton, though, Madueke looks to have saved his career in west London.
It would now be a surprise if Madueke left Stamford Bridge this month. The former PSV man has now shown his worth to Pochettino.
