Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that staff at Chelsea are convinced Cole Palmer was an absolute bargain signing for them.

He took to YouTube to state that the attitude and application of the 21-year-old has really impressed everyone at the club so far.

It has not taken Palmer long to get to grips with his new side after his deadline day signing.

The former Manchester City man is now one of the first names on the teamsheet for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, after quickly establishing himself as the creative force at Stamford Bridge.

He has also taken penalty duties following Enzo Fernandez’s miss earlier this season, scoring twice from the spot so far.

Now, Romano has claimed those at Stamford Bridge think they have secured an absolute gem for the future.

Chelsea think Palmer was a bargain

He said: “Chelsea were very happy with the opportunity they got in the final days of the summer transfer window with Cole Palmer. Chelsea are convinced they got a bargain with Cole Palmer.

“What he’s showing on the pitch but also in the training sessions is something that is really positive for Chelsea. People at the club are super happy with the player and people in the coaching staff see his attitude in training and are convinced that what they paid to Manchester City is obviously an important fee, but is way less than the real value of the player for the future.”

“They think that Cole Palmer is going to be special, that he can play in multiple positions, they are convinced.”

It is undoubted that Palmer will be named in the starting side for tonight’s Premier League game against Tottenham, as the Blues look to make a statement against a side chasing the top of the table.
