There is one name that is getting everyone talking right now at Chelsea as they end September unbeaten in all competitions.

Cole Palmer’s brilliance reached yet another level over the weekend as his four first half goals led them to a 4-2 win against Brighton.

The England international was key to absolutely everything going on at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, and put himself on par with Erling Haaland’s goal and assist numbers for the season so far.

The link-up he has with Nicolas Jackson continued to reap healthy rewards for Chelsea, with the striker teeing him up for the first of his four goals.

The reaction has obviously been incredibly positive to Palmer’s performance, with some even going on to make predictions about just how good he can be.

Andy Goldstein tips Cole Palmer for Ballon d’Or

One of those was Andy Goldstein, who told TalkSPORT he can see him as a Ballon d’Or winner within the next three years amongst other achievements.

He said: “Cole Palmer will end up at Real Madrid, he will be one of England’s greatest ever players and he will win the Ballon d’Or. I’m not joking, he will win the Ballon d’Or in the next three years – mark my words, by the time he’s 25.”

Palmer has long Chelsea contract

Chelsea will obviously be grateful that they have Palmer tied up in the extremely long contract they have offered a number of their players, with their approach perhaps being looked at more positively right now.

There is a lot of optimism surrounding the work Enzo Maresca and co are doing right now, with the manager seeming to find the best position to get the most out of the former Manchester City man.

England fans will no doubt be annoyed that Gareth Southgate didn’t manage to do this during the European Championships over the summer, with him not starting a single game for his country during that competition.
