Tammy Abraham left Chelsea for AS Roma in 2021, but he remains interested in the affairs of his former club.

That is hardly a surprise, with Tammy Abraham coming through the ranks at Cobham.

The striker also enjoyed success at Chelsea, helping the club to win the Champions League three years ago.

He is now at AC Milan, joining them from Serie A rivals Roma over the summer, but has still found time to discuss his old side.

Tammy Abraham on Chelsea’s top-four chances

Abraham knows what it takes to finish in the Champions League places in the Premier League.

Back in the 2019/20 season, the 27-year-old scored 15 goals in 34 appearances to help Chelsea finish fourth and qualify for Europe’s elite competition.

He is now backing Enzo Maresca‘s side to repeat that feat this term. Speaking on BBC’s Away Goals show, Abraham said: “They have a good team. Players like Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson.

“I would like to see them finish in the top four because they have 50 players or something like that who are all good players so they can do it.”

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has gone one step further. O’Hara thinks Chelsea can actually win the title this season.

Chelsea’s record against top-four rivals

Chelsea have just come out of a run of fixtures where they had to play several of their rivals for the top four.

In that run, the Blues drew with Arsenal and Manchester United, while they lost 2-1 to Liverpool.

At the start of the season, Chelsea also lost against Manchester City, so they have not taken too many points from their big fixtures so far.

Nevertheless, they currently find themselves in third and are only one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side.

All things considered, then, there is a good chance of Chelsea finishing fourth or higher and qualifying for the Champions League.

A title challenge may come too soon, though. Right now, they are conceding too many sloppy goals.

Chelsea gave away a late penalty against Leicester City over the weekend, and while it was not the end of the world, it is the kind of mistake they have been making all season at the back.
