Jason Cundy has fired a warning to Premier League side Arsenal about their reported transfer interest in Chelsea’s Kai Havertz.

There’s currently a lot of transfer rumours regarding the idea of Kai Havertz, 24, leaving Stamford Bridge and moving across London to the Emirates Stadium.

The Telegraph has claimed this week that Chelsea have rejected an opening bid from Arsenal for Havertz. They add that the Blues think the attacker is worth £70million and will do business with the Gunners for the right transfer fee.

TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy, who’s also a Chelsea fan, has warned Arsenal about Havertz.

He rates the German forward as a talented individual, but has major question marks against him when it comes to his battling spirit.

“Technically he is a brilliant footballer. For me, though, he lacks a bit of heart. If you are in a battle, I am not sure he is the man you want,” Cundy told talkSPORT.

“The thing for me, if I was an Arsenal fan, that would concern me is he goes missing. He lacks a little of bit of steel, a little bit of fight, he can drift out of games very, very quickly.”

In fairness, we’ve seen Havertz throw his body about in the past and he certainly doesn’t back away from 1v1 confrontations.

However, we’ve got to agree with the notion that the left-footed attacker is guilty of going missing in certain games.

It would be great to see him get a run of chances next season in a No 10 position in Mauricio Pochettino’s system, which could definitely be a way to get the best from him. He’s so often playing out of position as the sole No 9 at the point of attack.

However, we see the benefits of cashing in if Arsenal get close to the £70million asking price.
