The Cole Palmer show at Chelsea is showing no signs of slowing down.

Even when Chelsea do struggle in certain matches, Cole Palmer so often comes out of it as the club’s biggest positive.

The 22-year-old English attacker has been truly remarkable since he joined the Blues from Manchester City in the summer transfer window of 2023.

Jaap Stam claims Chelsea’s Palmer may be worth £200m one day with the way that he’s performing and developing. He’s certainly making a mockery of the £40m it cost to sign him from Man City.

Cole Palmer nominated for another Premier League award

It’s been confirmed on Thursday that Chelsea’s Palmer has been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month for December.

Yet again, Palmer is up for the individual monthly award in the Premier League.

The left-footed playmaker has previously won the award twice, but it’s ridiculous to see that he’s now had seven monthly nominations since he joined Chelsea.

Cole Palmer’s record at Chelsea in the Premier League Player of the Month award

It’s very unlikely that Palmer leaves Chelsea amid speculation of transfer interest from Real Madrid. It’s superb news for the club that he’s tied down to a long-term deal that expires in 2033.

The fact that he’s been nominated seven times for the Player of the Month in his Chelsea career is mind-blowing, and it’s proof that he’s one of the division’s truly elite players right now.

Does Cole Palmer deserve to win December prize?

Chelsea’s form last month was up and down, but Palmer once again showed his world-class levels.

In seven league games, Palmer scored five goals and created one assist. This included a brace in the memorable 4-3 away victory at London rivals Tottenham. In fact, Maresca said Palmer may be the Premier League’s best player immediately after the Spurs win.

Even though Palmer was outstanding in December, something that Blues fans are used to seeing, there’s an argument to be made he’s had better months.

In fairness, the individual prize should really be heading towards Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who scored seven goals and supplied seven assists last month in six top-flight appearances.
