Real Madrid being linked with a move for Chelsea star Cole Palmer was inevitable.

Cole Palmer has quickly become one of the best players in the world, and there is now talk about Real Madrid being interested in the attacking midfielder.

This season, Palmer has already scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 15 Premier League games for Chelsea. Last term, he managed 22 and 11 respectively in 33 outings.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville recently praised Palmer, describing him as “exceptional”.

Cole Palmer loves Chelsea

If Real Madrid really are interested in signing Palmer, it looks like the Spanish giants will find it difficult to get him out of Stamford Bridge.

According to TEAMtalk, Palmer loves Chelsea and the club have huge admiration for the 22-year-old.

As a result, the outlet claims that Palmer leaving west London is “very unlikely” in a potential blow to Real Madrid.

The Englishman also has a contract until 2033, meaning that Chelsea are under no pressure to sell their prized asset.

It is good news for Enzo Maresca, who rates Palmer highly. On Wednesday, Maresca suggested that Palmer was the Premier League’s finest.

What did Cole Palmer say after signing his new contract?

Despite having only joined Chelsea last year, Palmer signed a fresh deal back in August, a reward for his fine form.

He told Chelsea’s official website: “I’m delighted to sign this new deal. I achieved a lot in my first season here and hopefully I can continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of bringing success and trophies to Chelsea.”

All in all, then, Palmer looks happy at Chelsea, which is hardly a surprise. They gave him the platform to become arguably the best player in England and are currently competing for the Premier League title.

Palmer himself helped Chelsea to close the gap between them and leaders Liverpool to just four points last weekend.

The England international scored twice against Tottenham Hotspur as the Blues went on to beat their London rivals 4-3. Palmer thinking about an exit now would not make any sense and is something that Chelsea would not entertain.
