A lot has been made of Chelsea’s spending power over the last few seasons, however people are not as quick to praise them for their ability to sell better than anyone.
Deals for the likes of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap have set the Blues back big money, however many have already begun to make their mark in their opening games.
Chelsea’s Club World Cup semi-final win earned them £22m, a game where Pedro scored both goals in his first start.
In order to continue signing big names though, there is a need to part ways with members of the squad, whether they were on loan or genuine options to Enzo Maresca last season.

The eye-watering amount Chelsea have made in transfer fees this summer
Noni Madueke has been the big-name who departed, leaving the Club World Cup camp hours before the final to move to Arsenal.
The Blues negotiated hard to receive £52m for the winger, including add ons, a significant profit on the money they paid to sign him PSV.

The latest expected sale from Chelsea is Ishe Samuels-Smith’s move to Strasbourg, with the Blues able to keep an eye on him at their fellow BlueCo club.
After the reported £7m transfer fee they will receive for the academy star, Chelsea will be able to boast more than £160m in player sales already this summer.
| Chelsea summer 2025 exits | Transfer fee |
| Noni Madueke | £52m |
| Joao Felix | £43.7m |
| Djordje Petrovic | £25m |
| Mathis Amougou | £12.5m |
| Bashir Humphreys | £12m |
| Ishe Samuels-Smith | £7m |
| Kepa Arrizabalaga | £5m |
| Marcus Bettinelli | £2m |

Potential future Chelsea sales
Many believe Chelsea’s selling is not done for this summer, and with the signings of Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons being reported to be close, they will be looking to move on more players too.
Hato’s signing makes Renato Veiga surplus to requirements, and Al-Nassr are keen on Veiga after David Hancko’s expected move to them was hijacked by Atletico Madrid.
In attack, Christopher Nkunku is expected to be sold, as well as the likes of Raheem Sterling and Armando Broja who are very much out of the plans.
Other members of the ‘bomb squad’ who are expected to be moved on are Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi, and the Blues can make more than £100m from just those six names.
There are first team stars whose futures are not secure too. Nicolas Jackson’s status remains unclear, with plenty of top sides having him on their list for a potential signing.
