Despite Enzo Fernandez leaning towards leaving Chelsea this summer, there may be hope in the form of a new Blues signing.
Enzo Fernandez finds himself in a difficult situation at Chelsea as he joins up with the Argentina squad for their World Cup defense in North America.
It has become an open secret that the midfielder is eager to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with reports indicating he has already given the green light to a potential move to Real Madrid.
He originally preferred to have his long-term future resolved before the tournament kicked off; however, that timeline has proven completely unrealistic. Chelsea are standing firm, insisting they will not part ways with Fernandez for anything less than a £120 million valuation.
Yet, negotiations are completely stalled for the duration of the tournament, leaving Enzo to temporarily put the transfer speculation to one side as he fully focuses on the World Cup.

Enzo Fernandez and Valentin Barco get close on Argentina duty
Enzo Fernandez and incoming signing Valentin Barco have been turning heads while on international duty together, with training camp photos showing a close relationship.
Barco, who is set to complete a permanent summer move to Stamford Bridge following an exceptional season partly under Liam Rosenior at BlueCo sister club Strasbourg.
He’s been completely transformed from a struggling Brighton left-back into a line-breaking central midfielder.
And given the new photos, supporters will be eager to see if Barco’s sudden, close bond with his compatriot will pay dividends when it comes to Fernandez’s future.
Chelsea have high hopes for Josh Acheampong under Xabi Alonso…
Could Valentin Barco be a replacement or a help?
Valentin Barco is positioned to act as both a helper and a long-term replacement for Enzo Fernandez at Chelsea.
Having transitioned brilliantly into midfield, Barco possesses the vision and progressive passing traits required to complement Fernandez’s deep-lying position. They could easily forge a fluid midfield partnership under Xabi Alonso.
However, with Fernandez actively pushing for a summer departure to Real Madrid, Barco’s arrival provides Chelsea with a seamless, ready-made replacement.
So it’s ultimately down to whether the £120 million price tag will be reached.
