Things did not work out for Jamie Gittens in his first season at Chelsea, although interested clubs were warned about worries about his commitment before he even left Borussia Dortmund.
Gittens scored just one goal in all competitions in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, and struggled to make an impact in the Premier League.
He was struggling to establish himself as a starter ahead of Alejandro Garnacho, who himself only found the net once in the league.

Jamie Gittens was described as ‘not professional enough’ before he joined Chelsea
After joining the club for £52m (BBC), many expected more from the England U21 international, although it has to be said he had found himself out of favour at Dortmund before his move.
Niko Kovac being hired by the Bundesliga side essentially put an end to his time as a key player for them, but also seemed to convince rivals against making a move for him.

Journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Kovac made it clear to Bayern Munich that he thought Gittens wasn’t professional enough to make it there, seeing them pivot their interest to other options.
He told BILD: “Kovač is said to have made it more than clear that he considers Gittens “not professional enough” to succeed at Bayern. The club then abandoned the pursuit of Gittens and went all in on Luis Díaz.”
The decision paid off for Bayern, with Diaz contributing 49 goals and assists in his first season since the move from Liverpool.

Chelsea looking for a new attacker
The Blues will clearly not be pleased with what they saw out wide last season, and are looking to address it ahead of the arrival of Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea are reportedly looking for a versatile attacker to join their squad, with Morgan Rogers emerging as one of the main targets.
There is quiet confidence they have an advantage over the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in that race due to the ability to offer him a guaranteed starting role at the club.
With reports that Chelsea are set to launch a major bid for Rogers soon, it will be interesting to see how this saga plays out this summer.
