Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has made a really good start to the season, playing in all four of his side’s Premier League games so far.
Levi Colwill helped Chelsea to beat Bournemouth 1-0 over the weekend, which comes after starring for England over the international break.
Colwill was given seven out of 10 by a couple of English newspapers for his performance in the Three Lions’ 2-0 win against the Republic of Ireland.
Colwill was linked to Liverpool in the summer, but the central defender remained at Stamford Bridge and is now thriving there.

Levi Colwill wanted Chelsea to show they value him
Under Enzo Maresca, Colwill looks to be a key player, partnering Wesley Fofana in central defence.
However, it appears that the 21-year-old has had doubts in the past about whether Chelsea truly value him.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Colwill was unsure about how much the Blues valued him and wanted the club to show that they do.
On his Substack, he wrote: “People might think he flirted with Liverpool recently, but that was never as big as it was made out and at that time, Colwill was unsure how much Chelsea valued him and he was looking for the club to show him that.”
As well as the Republic of Ireland, the centre-back also played against Finland earlier this month, and Chelsea fans praised Colwill’s passing after that game.
Levi Colwill should feel valued at Chelsea
If Colwill did not feel valued at Stamford Bridge, then he should now. The England international is playing regularly in his preferred position and has been handed the No.6 shirt this season, which was previously worn by fan favourite Thiago Silva.
Mauricio Pochettino was an admirer of Colwill. “He is a fantastic talent,” the former Blues boss told Chelsea’s official website last year.
However, the Argentine often played the Chelsea academy graduate at left-back, preferring to use the likes of Silva and Axel Disasi in central defence.
That may have started to put some doubts into Colwill’s head. But Pochettino is gone now and his successor has shown that he appreciates what he can bring to the centre of Chelsea’s backline.
