Chelsea reportedly completed the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on yesterday’s deadline day, although the supporters are still waiting for official confirmation from the club.
It’s widely rumoured that Jadon Sancho, 24, has made the switch to Chelsea on a season-long loan. The early signs of this campaign were that he was far down the pecking order at Old Trafford, so he’s secured a transfer to try play some regular first-team football.
Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs reports via X that Chelsea have an obligation to buy Sancho for around £25m.
Telegraph reporter James Ducker claims that Chelsea’s obligation to buy the Man United winger will be trigged if they finish in the top 14 of the Premier League.

Where Chelsea are planning to play Jadon Sancho
Sancho has proven during his time with Man United and Borussia Dortmund he’s an extremely versatile attacker. The London-born player is capable of playing on either wing, plus he can even work more centrally as a No.10 playmaker.
Journalist David Ornstein reports via X that Chelsea’s plan is to primarily play Sancho as a left-winger.
Chelsea competition on the left wing
Based on what we’ve seen from Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca in the opening weeks of the season, he’s still making his mind up on his preferred left-winger. He’s now got another option in Sancho to throw into the equation, too.
We’ve already seen the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku and Pedro Neto get minutes on the left wing. It certainly feels like there will be plenty of rotation and opportunities for players this season, especially after qualifying for the Conference League group stages.
Sancho shared a couple of years ago his favoured position is playing off either wing, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
His signing has come as a bit of a surprise and the Blues were crying out for a centre-forward not another wide option, but let’s hope Sancho can start to fulfil his huge potential in West London.
