Nicolas Jackson seems to have pleased his bosses at Chelsea this season and not just because of his goals.
In the Premier League, Nicolas Jackson is Chelsea‘s second top scorer, netting six times in 11 appearances.
This term, his finishing has looked much better, with the 23-year-old taking two of his chances against West Ham United back in September really well.
Jackson is the most improved player in the Premier League, according to former goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Chelsea happy with Nicolas Jackson
Chelsea like what they are seeing from Jackson in front of goal. In fact, they seem to be happy with his overall development.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues are pleased with Jackson’s improved finishing, his general contribution on the pitch and his all-round progress.
On Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he wrote: “Nobody at Chelsea is doubting Jackson though, sources have assured me of that. They are very pleased with his development and clear improvements in front of goal, and his general contributions on the pitch as well.”
The Senegalese media weren’t too impressed with Jackson‘s last performance, but it does not look like Chelsea have any complaints about him right now.
Gianfranco Zola on Nicolas Jackson’s improvement
Gianfranco Zola has also noticed Jackson’s improvement this season and has explained how it has come about.
“I think he is getting better, but I think this is a consequence of the team getting better,” Zola said when discussing Jackson.
Indeed, Chelsea as a whole have been much better compared to the previous campaign, with Enzo Maresca’s men currently sitting third in the Premier League table.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 11 | 9 | 1 | 1 | 21 | 6 | 15 | 28 | |
| 2 | 11 | 7 | 2 | 2 | 22 | 13 | 9 | 23 | |
| 3 | 11 | 5 | 4 | 2 | 21 | 13 | 8 | 19 | |
| 4 | 11 | 5 | 4 | 2 | 18 | 12 | 6 | 19 |
To remain there, though, Maresca will need Jackson to continue scoring. He will try to add to his tally when Chelsea travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Maresca’s former club Leicester City.
Jackson scoring should also take some of the pressure off Cole Palmer, whom the team have heavily relied on since his arrival at Stamford Bridge last year.
Other players are also starting to step up, with Pedro Neto scoring that all-important equaliser for Chelsea in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal just before the international break. Playing alongside Palmer, Jackson and Noni Madueke, Chelsea have a very dangerous attack.
