Chelsea will be gearing up to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday right now, but they’re having to deal with an approach from Thomas Tuchel and England for one staff member.

Enzo Maresca will be fully focused on the task ahead as his Chelsea side travel to Anfield to face Arne Slot’s first-placed Liverpool side.

The Reds have just the one loss to their name, just like Chelsea. Interestingly, the Blues have scored more goals this season, but Liverpool have conceded just two in seven games.

Cole Palmer will need to be on top form if he is to breach Liverpool’s defence, and Nicolas Jackson needs to have his shooting boots on in a game where there may not be a huge amount of chances.

However, there’s a bit of business to deal with away from the field, as Thomas Tuchel is already looking to steal one person from the backroom staff at Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel makes official approach for Chelsea staff member

Thomas Tuchel left his post as head coach of Chelsea on 7 September 2022 after 17 months at Stamford Bridge, but most fans still have a soft spot for him.

Former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has already sent a message to Thomas Tuchel after being appointed as England boss, but he just didn’t get on with Todd Boehly.

Interestingly, he’s looking to steal one person in particular to come and join him in the England setup.

According to Enzo Maresca (as per Football.London), who was speaking in his press conference, England have approached an analyst about joining up with the Three Lions.

I know that one of them has been approached, one of the analysts. We are quite open for people to take their chances.

“The other one, Hilario, I heard something but there has not been an approach yet. We are open-minded to allow people to take chances and also we are happy to keep people.”

Why has Thomas Tuchel swapped club football for England?

Thomas Tuchel actually stated that his time in England before was a reason for him wanting to make the jump to be the international boss.

“I am very proud to have been given the honour of leading the England team,” said Tuchel, only the third foreigner to be given the role.

“I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already.

“To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is very exciting.”
