Three Chelsea predictions for 2026 as Liam Rosenior joins and Pedro Neto gets replaced

Chelsea were very inconsistent in the Premier League last year, but they still had a good 2025 overall.

Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea were able to win the Club World Cup and Conference League trophies.

They will now be hoping that 2026 can be another positive year for the club, though there could be a lot of drama, as there always is at Stamford Bridge.

Liam Rosenior replaces Enzo Maresca

Last month, Enzo Maresca unleashed an outburst in one post-match press conference, unhappy with what he perceived as a lack of support.

That moment was perhaps the nail in the coffin for the Italian, and it would now not be a shock if Liam Rosenior replaced him.

Thoughts, Blues?

Rosenior has done a great job at Strasbourg and ultimately has connections with the Chelsea owners. At some point, he will manage the Blues.

City have reportedly identified Maresca as a target to replace Pep Guardiola if he leaves the Etihad.

Geovany Quenda replaces Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season. He has probably been their best attacker.

In 18 Premier League appearances, the winger has scored five goals and provided three assists.

With Geovany Quenda set to arrive from Sporting Lisbon, though, Chelsea may need to make space for him. They sacrificed Noni Madueke for Estevao Willian last summer, and it would not be a surprise if they did something similar with Neto and Quenda in 2026.

Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens are loaned out

Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens only joined Chelsea recently, but their form this season and potential arrivals in the next transfer window could see both men depart.

Emanuel Emegha is expected to be part of Chelsea’s squad, while the Blues recently showed interest in Antoine Semenyo, suggesting that they are open to bringing in a new left winger.

Ultimately, things are pointing towards loan deals for both Delap and Gittens.
