This summer promises to be seismic for Chelsea. Not only do the club need to appoint a new manager, but a large turnover of players is expected, and Tim Sherwood has named four that will leave.

Without Champions League football, Chelsea are going to struggle to attract the calibre and quality of player that has made the club one of Europe’s biggest forces over the last 30 years. It is as simple as that.

That comes at a time when Chelsea are seriously in need of that extra quality, that top-tier player and manager that can take the Blues to the next level. But without the Champions League, it is impossible.

If Enzo Fernandez leaves, we should be all over Bernardo Silva 🤩

Not only will Chelsea struggle to find the players they need this summer, they are also in danger of losing their current cream of the crop. Tim Sherwood has named four players he now expects to leave the club.

Enzo Fernandez and three others will leave Chelsea

World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez will jump at the chance to leave Stamford Bridge if an interested party can meet his £100m price tag. The Blues are open to his exit if they receive a nine-figure fee for the star.

Fernandez has disconnected himself from fans after his full-time antics against Brighton, which comes after his flirting with Real Madrid during the break. But Sherwood doesn’t believe the exits will stop there.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Saturday, former Tottenham manager Sherwood believes three others will be pushing for a summer exit. He predicts Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella will want to leave.

“If the club doesn’t qualify for the Champions League, players who are very very good, the likes of Cole Palmer – who hasn’t played very well this season – Enzo Fernandez, World Cup winner,” Sherwood said.

“They will want to leave the football club. Marc Cucurella, Joao Pedro, who’s had a fantastic season. They will want to leave because the club are not in the Champions League,” the Sky Sports pundit continued.

Why Palmer and Fernandez could be stuck in Chelsea limbo

Chelsea do not want to lose money on Fernandez and are requesting a huge £150m for Palmer. The Blues are in a position to do so, given they have tied down these players to long-term deals exceeding 2030.

Fingers crossed Pedro and Palmer are fit…

The issue for buying clubs, is that they will struggle to afford these players – even if they are desperate to get out of the club. It has already been reported that Real Madrid will struggle to afford Fernandez.

Julien Laurens does not believe Man United or Bayern Munich will commit to spending £150m on Palmer in the summer, especially after the season he is having. It could leave the duo stuck in Chelsea limbo.
