The signing of one Chelsea player this summer caused a split of opinion at the club, with reports suggesting that Todd Boehly isn’t convinced by the transfer.
Like always, the Blues are at the heart of the latest footballing saga in this country. This time it’s the Chelsea ownership that is firmly under the microscope in the last week.
It’s been widely reported that there’s a rift between Blues co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
Many Chelsea supporters have taken Boehly’s side in the clash, but it’s worth noting that Eghbali’s Clearlake Capital owns a majority shareholding in the club.
The latest disagreement is over one specific transfer in the recent summer window.

Chelsea signing Tosin Adarabioyo splits opinion
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea’s decision to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer and loan out Trevoh Chalobah to Crystal Palace has not gone down well with everyone at Stamford Bridge.
It is explained that Clearlake sources maintain Tosin is a very smart addition by the Blues, with the 26-year-old centre-half joining on a free to add extra leadership and height in both boxes. This isn’t an opinion universally shared at the club, though.
The report says that some within Chelsea’s football department question how Tosin is an upgrade on Chalobah in defence.
Also, Chelsea chairman Boehly would have preferred to keep the squad size down and support academy graduates such as Chalobah rather than focussing on opportunities in the transfer market.
Apparently, Chalobah’s exile in west London wasn’t solely driven by Clearlake because it was approved by the sporting director and signed off by Enzo Maresca.
Tosin Adarabioyo has point to prove
Let’s hope that Tosin, 26, can turn out to be a very shrewd addition at Chelsea this campaign.
While we massively disagree with the club’s decision to get rid of Chalobah, it’s hardly fair to lie the blame at Tosin’s door.
Tosin, who earns £120,000-a-week (Spotrac), arrived at Chelsea in the summer on a free transfer, although he’s on fairly big wages.
The 6ft 5in centre-back is cover in the early weeks of the season in the Premier League, but he should get decent minutes across all the club’s various cup competitions.
