Reports recently have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is looking to bring in at least one young, top-class central midfielder.

The news comes as the club are looking to make inroads into a potential Jude Bellingham signing, with them looking to play catch-up to Liverpool and Real Madrid in the race to sign one of the world’s hottest talents.

There have also been reports that the Blues are still as keen as ever to bring Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge, with them not deterred by West Ham’s resistant approach during this summer.

The pair have recently featured together for England, with them offering a good balance to a partnership that did well despite a mixed bag of results for the Three Lions.

With Boehly already showing he is willing to invest heavily in the squad, Chelsea fans could be set to have a brand new midfield to get behind for the next few years.

With N’golo Kante and Jorginho’s futures very much in the air, there may be a need for more than one addition to replace the brilliance the pair have brought over the last few years.

There are not many better options in world football than Rice and Bellingham, and both of those being available in just one window is a remarkable opportunity for any team to set themselves up for a strong foundation for up to a decade.

With them knowing each other as well as a number of Chelsea’s most important players through England, there would likely not need to be much time afforded to getting to know surroundings.
