Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Chelsea have been put off signing Andre Onana this summer.

He told GiveMeSport that the fee demanded by Inter Milan is too high for them to consider making a move for him in the upcoming transfer window.

Onana has not been short of praise this week after his individual performance helped his side book their place in the Champions League final against Manchester City.

Both Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand were extremely complimentary of his display, noting how calm he was on the ball in pressure moments.

These impressive performances have seen him linked with a move away from the San Siro this summer, potentially to a Premier League side.

Chelsea have been reportedly interested in striking a deal. Yesterday, it was even claimed that the club were willing to offer Mateo Kovacic in some kind of swap deal for his services.

Chelsea think Onana is too much

However, Galetti has now claimed that the Blues have been partially put off by the price the Serie A side are demanding.

He said: “Onana could leave Inter in the summer if a suitable offer arrives. Chelsea are seriously interested in the Cameroonian goalkeeper. However, the current price at the request of the Italian club is €50 million (£45 million) and is considered too high by the Blues.”

Whether it is Onana or not, it is almost certain that the club are going to add a goalkeeper to their ranks this summer

.Many have been uninspired this year by both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.

The Senegal international has also put contract talks on hold for the future after he he lost his place as the regular starter at Stamford Bridge.
