Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has praised Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino ahead of Sunday’s meeting in the Premier League.
It’s a battle between two new managers this weekend when Bournemouth host Chelsea.
For Mauricio Pochettino, he’s had a frustrating start to life as Blues head coach. Despite some eye-catching performances from his side, they’ve got just four points from their opening four league matches.
As for Bournemouth, they collected just two league points before the international break.

Iraola has paid huge credit to his opposite number before Sunday’s meeting:
“He (Pochettino) was a very good player playing for Espanyol, for PSG,” Iraola told the Bournemouth Echo.
“When he was coaching Espanyol, I also played against them.
“He has been really successful as a coach in different teams.
“Tottenham, PSG and now he has another challenge with a very good squad.
“But this is the Premier League. Every week you’re facing top level players, top level coaches and now it’s our turn at home and we want to give them a really tough game.”

Journalist Phillips reported via his Substack this week that Chelsea’s owners are happy with Pochettino so far.
Let’s hope the results on the pitch start to improve to lift the feel-good factor around the club.
