Thomas Tuchel was full of praise for “Chelsea-loving” midfielder Mason Mount ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Middlesbrough.

The 23-year-old has the fourth-most minutes in the Premier League this season among Chelsea outfielders and the most among their attackers.

This shows how heavily Tuchel relies on the versatile midfielder.

Not to mention that despite other Chelsea attackers’ recent fine form, including Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech, Mount still has the most league goal contributions (eight goals and seven assists) in the team.

Tuchel also highlights the England international’s mentality which helps him establish himself as a fan favourite among the fans.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Mason,” the German told Chelsea TV.

“He’s the kind of guy who comes with a smile to every single training and is always 100 percent in matches and accepting every challenge.

“That’s why it’s so nice to work with him. He’s full of quality and has a Blue heart. He loves the club, he loves Chelsea, and that’s how he plays.

“He has our full support because he’s always switched on and ready to push himself to the limit.

“That’s the foundation, that he gets our full support because he deserves it.”

Mount has arguably not been as consistent as he had been in the previous two seasons, but his presence on the pitch is still so important for Chelsea.

Another advantage he has over other Chelsea attackers is his good partnership with Havertz. Tuchel recently said that the pair thrive when playing together.
