Two Chelsea first team stars have now been named in the Premier League Team of the Week for their performance in the win over Luton Town.

WhoScored have named both goalscorers Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke as players to feature alongside those who performed the best this week.

The Blues made it back-to-back wins in their final game of 2023, and apart from a nervy final 15 minutes they put on an extremely impressive display.

They raced into a 3-0 lead early in the second half, with Palmer playing a part in all three goals.

His statistics have been extremely impressive this season since he made the deadline day move from Manchester City, and finding the net twice moved his seasonal tally to eight in the Premier League.

Madueke also kept up his fine form as he continues to look to establish himself firmly in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Stamford Bridge.

His late penalty in the game before against Crystal Palace rescued a victory at Stamford Bridge, and he rifled home his second in as many games from a tight angle.

The England U21 international is a player looking to take a chance handed to him by a suspension for Raheem Sterling. The winger was instead on the bench for his first game back against Luton.

The Blues are now looking to prepare for their next domestic cup venture at the weekend where they will face Preston North End at Stamford Bridge.

The game is likely to be a chance for those who have struggled for minutes to take their chance and impress the manager, which could mean a rest for Palmer.

This would also be beneficial for them as they look ahead to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup against Middlesbrough, with a place at Wembley on the line for the victors.
