‘Unbelievable’… £30m Chelsea man claims goal he scored this season was one of the best moments in his career

This season was a much better one for Chelsea in front of goal.

In total, Chelsea scored 77 goals in the Premier League. It was 39 more than what they managed in the 2022/23 campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino did not get everything right during his short time at the club, but he certainly did improve the team’s attack.

The likes of Cole Palmer, Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja all contributed to that tally. And one of those goals was huge for one of those players.

Chelsea goal ‘unbelievable’

Chelsea beat west London rivals Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage back in October.

Mudryk put the visitors 1-0 up on the night before Broja scored just a minute later, and the latter has now described that moment as “unbelievable” and one of the best of his career so far.

Speaking about that goal, which came in his first start in 11 months following a serious injury, the striker told The Athletic: “It was unbelievable. One of my best moments. It was not the best goal of my career but probably the one that means the most to me.

“It was a massive thing. I was smiling for one or two weeks over it.

“I could only play 60 minutes against Fulham, because my legs were finished [that night]. It was amazing just to be out there. I had been out of the game for so long it kind of felt new to me again.”

Armando Broja could not build on Fulham goal

Unfortunately for Broja, he was unable to kick on after netting in the west London derby.

Broja would go on to score just one more goal for Chelsea, a header against Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup, before going out on loan to Fulham ironically.

In the end, though, the 22-year-old probably would have been better off staying at Stamford Bridge.

Broja did not make a single start under Marco Silva and is now returning to Chelsea.

However, it does not look like he will be staying there. According to the Daily Express, the Blues are willing to sell the Albania international for £30m this summer.
