Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has joked on Instagram that he is a faster player than new signing Mykhailo Mudryk.
The winger has not taken long to capture supporters’ imagination with the pace that he promised to bring when he made the big-money move from Shakhtar Donetsk last month.
It didn’t take long for him to start setting some records too. He has been registered as the quickest player to feature in the Premier League this season, a statistic which also highlighted the speed of teammate Denis Zakaria.

His debut against Liverpool off the bench brought great promise regarding his ability to quickly adapt to life in England.
While his first start against Fulham didn’t offer the same, it later emerged that he had been suffering with illness and perhaps should not have even featured in the game,
It appears now that he is beginning to form relationships with his new teammates off the pitch.
Silva jokes he’s faster than Mudryk
Silva posted an Instagram story of the pair running in training, joking that his top speed is higher than that of the Ukrainian’s.
While pace may be not the feature the Brazilian is best known for, his brilliance has been on display more than enough this season as he continues to defy the ageing process.
The veteran, who has recently been described as ‘unbelievable’ by Gary Neville, is closing in on another new deal with the club.

He has recently formed his latest defensive partnership with January signing Benoit Badiashile.
The Frenchman has hardly put a foot wrong since coming in last month despite the little fanfare regarding his move. He is yet to concede a goal as a Chelsea player.
Chelsea will be hoping Silva will now continue as the perfect role model for the remainder of his time at the club, with Badiashile being joined by Wesley Fofana as promising young defenders.
