One Chelsea player has been included in the Premier League’s Team of the Week for the latest round of matches, but there’s no room for Cole Palmer after his eye-catching display against Newcastle United.
Chelsea picked up an important three points in the Premier League on Sunday, beating Newcastle 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Yet again, Cole Palmer showed his top-class qualities with an eye-catching display. He produced a stunning pre-assist with a defence-splitting pass in the first-half, plus scored his seventh league goal of this season.
Speaking via Chelsea’s official website after the weekend victory, Palmer explained the tactic he used against Newcastle.
However, the Englishman is not in the Team of the Week from the weekend’s games in the Premier League.

Pedro Neto beats Cole Palmer to Team of the Week
While there was no room for Palmer in WhoScored’s Premier Legue Team of the Week, Chelsea winger Pedro Neto did make the XI. He was joined by Blues loanee Trevoh Chalobah for his latest Crystal Palace display, too.
Neto, who was making just his third league start of the season against Newcastle, certainly seized his opportunity to impress.
The 24-year-old attacker started on the left flank and troubled Newcastle’s Tino Livramento for large spells. In particular, he assisted Nicolas Jackson’s opening goal with a superb pass across goal after showing lightning speed to get in behind. Later on, he drifted over to the right flank and kept threatening.
Neto proved why Chelsea splashed the cash for him in the summer, so we wouldn’t be surprised now if he kicks on and makes the starting position his own.
Lightning pace in Chelsea attack
For opposition teams preparing to face Chelsea, their backlines should beware that they’ll come up against individuals with raw speed and the ability to stretch them in behind.
Neto definitely ticks the box in terms of express pace. The same goes for teammates such as Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke as well.
Speaking recently via Sky Sports, Madueke praised Chelsea’s Neto as “unbelievable” with his pace.
