Mason Mount has been seen back on the grass training as he looks to step up his return from injury before the end of the season.
He posted photos on his own Instagram page with the ball at his feet, confirming he is getting closer to being back on the pitch.
It has been a tough 2023 for Mount after returning from the World Cup, with injuries making it very difficult for him to secure regular playing time.

He has not started a game since the Blues’ 2-0 home defeat to Southampton back in February, playing less than 45 minutes in the 12 Premier League games since.
Frank Lampard is well known to be a huge fan of the England international, however injury has kept him out pretty much ever since the former manager came in on a temporary basis.
Mount back in training
Despite his poor form this season, he has been praised as ‘unbelievable’ by former Blue and current pundit Joe Cole.
There were plenty of fears when he went for surgery a few weeks ago that the 24-year-old may have played his last game for the club, due to the links that he could be on the move at the end of the season.

It seemed unfathomable just 12 months ago that the future of Chelsea would not include Mount, especially given that he is currently the two-time defending player of the year in West London.
However, reports have claimed that there is a large disparity between what the two parties want from a new contract as he approaches his final 12 months on his deal.
With Todd Boehly reportedly not wanting players to enter the final year, there is a real possibility that another team reap the benefits of Mount next season.
