Marc Guiu had a frustrating debut year in Chelsea colours that was disrupted by a lengthy hamstring injury in the second half of the season.
Chelsea completed the signing of Marc Guiu, 19, from Barcelona in the 2024 summer window.
The Spanish centre-forward impressed as a back-up option in Enzo Maresca‘s squad, particularly in the Conference League, but his minutes were sporadic.
| Competition | Appearances | Goals | Minutes played |
| Conference League | 7 | 6 | 286 |
| Premier League | 3 | 0 | 70 |
| Club World Cup | 2 | 0 | 39 |
| Conference League qualifiers | 2 | 0 | 120 |
| FA Cup | 1 | 0 | 90 |
| Carabao Cup | 1 | 0 | 14 |
It’s perhaps no surprise that the Blues youngster has been linked with a potential transfer exit following the arrivals of both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.
Reports claim that Chelsea have rejected offers to buy Guiu already this summer and would prefer to send their teenage striker out on loan next season, preferably to an English club.

Chelsea supporters delighted Marc Guiu won’t be sold
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are thrilled with reports that Guiu won’t be sold by Maresca’s side this summer.
Here are Blues fans on X reacting to the transfer development…
One fan wrote: “That’s a good decision. So much potential in him.”
“That’s great. We keep who we want and we sell who we want. None of this ‘available for the right price’ garbage,” another said.
One supporter commented: “This is a very smart move! We’ve already seen he can handle the physicality, now he needs regular game time. I’d say a top team in the Championship or a mid-table club should be a good loan move for him!”
“That’s an intelligent move from Chelsea,” another posted.
Finally, one fan claimed: “Decent lad. Has a lot to learn though. I like that they believe in his talent.”
Similar to the Blues fanbase, we would enjoy seeing Guiu leave on loan during the upcoming 2025/26 season. The rapid forward definitely has huge potential and ability, but he needs to be given the platform to play regular first-team football to help his development.
Back in August 2024, Guiu insisted he was ready to play Premier League football. Will he get the opportunity to prove that on a consistent basis a year later?

Marc Guiu should take inspiration from Andrey Santos
There has been a lot of excitement from Chelsea fans around their 21-year-old midfielder Andrey Santos, but he’s gone away and developed into a much better on loan with Strasbourg. Now, it looks like he’s ready to contribute and compete in Maresca’s squad.
It feels like a no-brainer for Guiu to leave on a temporary basis this summer. It should give him major reassurance that the club wants to keep him on their books, though.
From a small sample size, the teenage attacker looks like he could be a future star, but he needs a home to develop.
Marc Cucurella called Guiu a “top player” last season after an eye-catching Conference League display. We think he will grow into something quite impressive next year out on loan, which would give him a much better chance of competing with the likes of Delap and Pedro.
