Gary Lineker has delivered a glowing verdict on Chelsea’s Cole Palmer for his recent performances.
Cole Palmer, 21, continues to go from strength to strength in a Chelsea shirt.
The left-footed playmaker put in yet another eye-catching display at the weekend, scoring two and assisting one in the hard-fought 3-2 league win away at Luton Town.
Speaking via Sky Sports Premier League recently, Jamie Carragher said that Palmer has been Chelsea’s best player “by a mile” since he joined. He even included him in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Gary Lineker has waxed lyrical about Palmer by claiming that he simply loves watching the Chelsea youngster play football.
Lineker said: “I mean that little rollover [against Luton], the drag back thing, I don’t know how you describe that, but it was a thing of beauty. It wasn’t one where he’s going really slow, he was actually going at pace when he did that. For those that didn’t see it he was one-on-one keeper, and the ball came and he put his studs over the ball to drag it to one side. Even after that he still took his time and shuffled it back again. He’s a very talented young man. I’m enjoying watching him play. He could creep into the European Championship squad.”
Micah Richards responded: “I have to give you a little bit of credit. He came on for City a couple of seasons ago and you asked me, ‘Who is that boy? He looks like he could be very special’. That’s what you said to me. I’ve got to give you your dues, Gary. You called it from a long [time ago].”
Gary Lineker hails Cole Palmer
Palmer has received high praise from all across the media this season, rightly so.
The 21-year-old’s walked into the dressing room at Stamford Bridge and very quickly established himself as a talisman.
He does play with a freedom and flair that makes him a real fan favourite. It’s crucial that he’s got the end product to go with that, too.
We’re now confident that Palmer can finish the season with double figures for both goals and assists, which would be a fantastic first year in West London. He’s sat on eight goals and six assists at the start of January.
