Jamie Carragher has included Chelsea star Cole Palmer in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.
Chelsea, who sit 10th in the division table, have had a very challenging first half of the league campaign.
However, Cole Palmer has been a huge shining light at Stamford Bridge since his summer arrival from Manchester City.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was at his brilliant best again during Chelsea’s 3-2 win at Luton Town, scoring two stunning goals.
He’s now got eight goals and six assists in his opening 19 Blues appearances.

Team of the Season
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher did pick Chelsea’s talisman in his Team of the Season at the halfway stage.
He believes that the English playmaker is by far the outstanding individual in the Chelsea squad. He’s compared him to the very best in the Premier League right now, too.
Speaking via Sky Sports Premier League, Carragher said: “You say you can’t pick a certain player because the team hasn’t done so well, but that for me almost elevates Cole Palmer. His performances this season, he’s been Chelsea’s best player by a mile, which is not too difficult. That is looking like, I wouldn’t say a mistake from Man City, because would he have got in ahead of [Phil] Foden or different players? But he’s been one of the best players of the season. He’s not just lucky to get in the team, he’s been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.”
Cole Palmer the best Chelsea player
We agree that Palmer is leading the way in the Chelsea squad this season.
At the age of 21, he’s already looking like a senior figure in this young group and someone capable of winning games on his own.
Speaking via TNT Sports 1 after Luton vs Chelsea, Jermaine Jenas labelled Palmer as “sensational” following his latest performance.
His £40milliion transfer cost (Sky Sports) is looking more and more like a stroke of genius with every match.
It feels like Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino is still trying to work out his best attacking formula, bu there’s no doubt that Palmer is a centrepiece in the XI moving forward.
