Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez scored a brilliant free-kick in his side’s 3-1 win against Aston Villa last night.
It left team-mate Conor Gallagher, who also managed to get his name on the scoresheet, stunned.
In a video posted by the Match of the Day account on X, Gallagher can be seen standing still in shock with his mouth wide open after watching the ball fly into the top corner.
It was Enzo Fernandez‘s sixth goal of the season and easily the best of the lot.
The 23-year-old came in for praise after the game, with Roy Keane really impressed with both his and Moises Caicedo’s performances.

Conor Gallagher taken by surprise after Enzo Fernandez’s free-kick
We think Fernandez shocked a lot of people with that free-kick, not just Gallagher.
Chelsea fans probably had no idea that the Argentine had that in his locker. Hopefully it is the first of many.
Fernandez played well overall. As well as Keane, Lee Dixon also had some praise for the World Cup winner, lauding him for the tackles he was making in the first half.
It was the kind of display Chelsea need to see more often. The Blues invested a lot of money in Fernandez, paying Benfica £107m (BBC Sport) for his signature in the 2023 January transfer window.
The Argentina international and the rest of Mauricio Pochettino‘s side will have the chance to build on their win against Villa when they take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday.
After dropping to 11th, it is a game Chelsea really need to take three points from. Champions League qualification looks to be gone, but Europa League football next season, albeit unlikely, does not seem impossible if the Blues can finish off the campaign strongly.
Winning the Carabao Cup or FA Cup would also see Pochettino’s men qualify for Europe.
