Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has mentioned the return of Armando Broja as the only real positive of his side’s defeat at Stamford Bridge today.

He claimed in his post-match press conference that his return from injury was a good sign on a day where there were very few in Blue.

Chelsea were defeated again in the Premier League at home, with Aston Villa running out 1-0 winners.

Ollie Watkins’ second half goal was the difference between the sides, as more misery was piled on those in attendance in West London.

Things went from bad to a whole lot worse early in the second 45 when Malo Gusto was given a straight red card for a challenge on Lucas Digne.

On a day where there were very few upsides, Pochettino mentioned the return from injury for Broja as the only real one.

He said: “Was good to see Broja after 9 or 10 months. He needs to build his confidence also. We are a young team in a process where they need to learn altogether. It is difficult to talk positives when you lose but I think we need to. We cannot hide, it is situation that disappoints us all.”

The Albanian international may be called into action up front a lot sooner than he will have expected, after it emerged that Nicolas Jackson will not be available to play their next game.

This is because after just six games this seasons, the striker has picked up five yellow cards to see him banned for their next outing.

This is despite Pochettino himself claiming he has spoken to the Senegal international about that very issue only this week.
